support artists at every stage of their professional careers. We produce work by veterans and relative newcomers alike. We ensure that your project succeeds, and that you do, too.

Hands of the Artist™ was initiated to showcase projects where artists have chosen to enlist our expertise to assist the creation of their artwork. We construct projects of every shape, size, and budget. We specialize in ideas, we specialize in metals, and we specialize in the advancement of artist's careers. Zahner® has assisted hundreds of art & design projects through the entire process:

Budget | Schedule | Engineer | Define | Construct | Finish | Deliver | Installation
When budgeting gets tough, many artists offer to forego their fee before looking at all their options. We know the options, and we're here to protect your interests as well as our own. We'll help you budget your project for those inevitable adjustments.
Artwork of this scale has a production and installation date. Zahner® will assist in developing a plan for all parties that is clear and concise. Our mutually agreed schedule will incorporate milestones to help guide completion deadlines and structure flexibility into the plan for the artistic process.
Zahner provides full engineering services. We understand the necessity to make the structure perform without interference or intrusion to the finished appearance of the artwork. And when the occasion arrises where an engineering certificate is required, we have the resources in house.
Zahner produces accurate and highly precise work by defining your project digitally in a three dimensional model. We can create this model from drawings and specifications, or we can simply scan your scale model. Our digital model goes beyond a simple guide for the fabrication and installation of your work. It also provides you and your client the ability to view your project from any angle, apply different finishes, and predict the many environmental effects such as sunlight cast upon the artwork.
Zahner has two fully equipped plants: One in Kansas City, Missouri; one in Dallas, Texas. Our people work with artists and understand the nuances of creating good work. When you choose Zahner, you also choose your level of involvement. The artist is always welcome and is encouraged to visit and be involved with us in the creation of the art piece. We are known for our care, concern, and execution of good design.

Zahner's art handlers take pride in overcoming the challenges involved with delivery of fine artwork. Our workshop has its own packaging facility where we use acid free protective films and coatings with our professional equipment to maneuver difficult forms. When we get it there, the same people that packed the artwork oversee the unpacking and installation of your art. We take excellent care to safely place your art to your specifications, and should anything go wrong, it's our liability on the line, not yours.
Zahner® field operators have years of experience in the installation of complex forms. They take an approach that is sensitive to the location, ensuring that the piece is installed accurately, and safely.
