This project was Zahner's first collaboration with students from the Kansas City Art Institute. This began the biennial Zahner Sculpture Competition, an opportunity for students in the Sculpture program at KCAI to have their projects professionally engineered and fabricated by the craftsmen at A. Zahner Company.
Much of Thomas' art work is fiber based, including the scale model she created for this piece by cutting holes in various paper forms until the final shape came to life.
